Personality:
Content Warning: brief mentions of death, drug use, and alcoholism.

First Impressions: Space case. Neuronaut. Acid casualty. First glances pinpoint Arkady as someone upbeat, cheerful, childlike almost with a love of all things whimsy. Small things bring her an almost childish amount of glee like picking flowers or seeing something new. She's someone who beats to her own drummer and isn't afraid to be exactly who she is. Very little can manage to embarrass her, some might even believe she doesn't have much shame at all. In fact at one point she had to be asked to wear underwear because she just couldn't figure out why anyone really cared that much. She's honest, almost to a fault, and very open about almost all aspects of her life. Without much prompting she'll casually acknowledge that her parents were high and that's why she has such a weird name. Or she has a weird tendency to tell people snippets of the future she's seen and then forget about it.


A closer look will yield a person that's sharper than anyone actually should be. She's never been afraid of her abilities or pushing them to the limits of how far they can go. She's naturally very curious and may be closer to being a genius than anyone realizes. She's extremely observant and has an uncanny ability to figure out what people are hiding. When it comes to dealing with people's bullshit she's not afraid to call them on exactly how stupid they're being. She's got an almost eerie ability to pinpoint exactly what someone is doing wrong, why they're doing it, and how pointless and harmful it actually is. She has a slight a tendency to be a bit too honest when it comes to speaking her mind.

Motivations:
Deep down Arkady carries an insane amount of guilt for accidentally destroying Britain. Her main motivation has centered around trying to figure out everything she can about their powers (called 'the package') and then finding a way to reverse what they did. Because she pushed them to stand up for themselves she feels a particular responsibility for what happened, blaming herself above everyone else. She pushes herself to a dangerous degree without any concern for her own safety. In general she puts other people, even strangers, way before herself with a disregard that could almost make it seem like she just doesn't care about herself.

Due to this she's also acutely aware of just how powerful they can be and how easy it is for them to use their powers in the wrong way. She's also aware of how easy it is for their powers to be used on innocent people in really horrific ways. Protecting innocents from them is one thing she's pretty motivated by.

Flaws:
Arkady talks very openly about her overdose and most mistakes she's made in life, feeling that people shouldn't hold onto their mistakes forever. Except when it comes to the biggest mistakes she's made. All of that guilt she has for what they did, accident or not, is something she keeps locked up tight inside of her. She never lets other people see her pain, how crushing the weight of responsibility feels to her, or her deep self-loathing. Instead she tries to put on a facade with a false smile meant to bring happiness to others. Her own self-loathing runs so deep that she's really willing to do almost anything to just avoid it at all costs. Meaning she drinks a lot to try to cope with it.

Sometimes the pool of self-hatred bubbles up to the surface and she does lash out in anger. When she fails to figure out a real way to fix things, repeatedly, she lashes out on the roof alone throwing bottles around and screaming at nobody in particular. She reacts rather poorly to people trying to comfort her or tell her that the tings she did aren't really their fault. The thing is she doesn't think she deserves to be let off the hook for it, she thinks she deserves punishment for it in some way.

The way that she pushes a lot of her more negative emotions down also means that when her own personal patience is pushed too far she can be extremely cruel and vindictive. The FreakAngels have a law to never mentally control someone unless they absolutely have to. Luke broke this rule and she set out to punish him for that by forcing him to live through a few seconds of the pain of her first death. In a very calm and controlled manner she explained to him that if she ever caught him doing something like that again, she'd make him live through an even longer amount for as long as it took.

Her repression has also resulted in a pattern of isolating herself to test her powers without telling anyone. She'll go weeks without food, drinks other than alcohol, and socializing wile she tries to figure out how to solve all their problems. Good luck convincing her that she should take care of herself or do anything at all just for herself. Basically if she has the choice of talking to people about things or taking every burden and carrying it on her shoulders, she'll choose carry it alone every time. To her detriment.

Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
When one of her friends tried to shoot her chicken she teleported them into the ocean. Don't hurt the chikkinz.

Abilities & Inventory:
  • Telepathy:
  • Communicating via long distances mentally. She can also read a persons mind, transfer information instantaneously, change memories down to the physical reactions left behind, erase memories, make people experience painful memories, knock someone out, take over someone's mind, implant commands, and use their eyes to see.
  • Empathy:
  • The ability to sense emotions and force other people to feel different emotions. Also gives them an innate danger sense.
  • Metabolic Control:
  • Allows them to slow their metabolism down to not require food or sleep for up to a week. They can also heal their own wounds including fatal wounds. They can die but they're able to bring themselves back to life and heal their bodies. They can also sober themselves up instantly.
  • Remote Viewing:
  • The ability to see long distances without actually being there. They can also astral project.
  • Telekinesis:
  • This ranges from fine details like stopping bleeding on someone else's wound or picking a lock to bigger things like exploding small objects or people's limbs.
  • Shielding:
  • She can create forcefields around her entire body strong enough to protect her from a mortar. She can also create small shields that look like an actual physical shield that can protect other people from direct attacks. The bigger the shield she casts the more energy she has to use and the weaker she is after.
  • Precognition:
  • If she extends enough concentration she can see into the future. Depending on how much focus she has she can see either very vague notions of the future or extremely specific and detailed events. This always leaves her really drained, confused, and with a massive headache.
  • Teleportation:
  • She can teleport herself in the blink of the eye, take a small group of people with her, and can teleport people to her if she can find where they are. She can only teleport around one island and cannot currently take others with her.
  • Random Shit:
  • She has X-Ray vision because sure why not and can control the weather to very small degrees (like making it rain over a small garden).

    For telepathy/empathy, I'll only use it with explicit permission.

    For teleporting, if it's okay I'd like to play with the idea that due to it being a different/new place that maybe she has to re-learn and readjust. Basically just that until she knows an area really well she has a chance of ending up in the completely wrong place. Also that it might make her exceptionally tired the longer the distance she goes or the more people she brings with her.

    Beyond that she's greatly limited by how frail she actually is. She can't actually fight (neither hand-to-hand or with any sort of weapon) and due to taking terrible care of herself she's got a pretty weak constitution. She suffers from night terrors, PTSD, and the damage that dabbling with her powers too much has caused (mainly that she can get confused very easily after spending too long practicing with her powers alone).

    ARMADA SELECTION

    While she may not necessarily agree, she's definitely a Paladins. The idea of navigating around to find a safe place to live fits in with her own hopes and goals for her own world back home. While she does have a rebellious nature, she also strongly believes in order and trying to only utilize power for good. She's also got quite a focus on research that fits in with their goals.
